97 vortec head torque specs?

I have a set of 906 vortec heads that i'm going to put on an older 400 sbc But not sure what torque specs to follow. I can't find an exact answer online any where. Or should i say found to many answers and not sure which one to follow.

Books says cylinder head bolts need 22ft lbs (30Nm) in sequence.

hey thanks for the info. 22ft pounds that's it wow doesn't seem like much but if that's what the book says. and buy chance do you know what the 30nm is. I more or less needed to know to see if i needed to buy new bolts for them. I didn't know if there was a degree of turn on the ft lbs.

Well I sure wish I would have known you weren't done with this info yet. I just sent my book home with my dad who was up here for Thanksgiving.

I read the degrees but can't remember off the top of my head. I can't for the life of me figure out why I didn't include it the first time. I did type it but guess I erased it.

Sorry haven't checked the forum much because it seemed like nobody had the answer. It's not that big of deal I will just have to find a book on it myself just thought maybe i could get a quick easy answer. Thanks alot for the help though.
