Default New to Offroading

I'm new to off roading and am looking for some good info on what equipment I need (if any) and if I need to know any special techniques. So far I've found a few guides online, but they don't seem that great:

Offroad Guide 1
Offroad Guide 2
Offroad Guide 3
Offroad Guide 4

Has anyone found any better guides?
