building first rund racing truck

I'm building mud first mud racing truck and would like to hear what advice people and give me and thought about my set up know. I have a 87 chevy k10, long bed, 4x4, sbc 350 built to put out 400+ hp, th400 tranny, 205 transfer, 6in lift, ford 9in in the back, stock axles in front, 35" tractor tires. I'm goin to be running modified class. Strictly a mud truck. Main ideas I'm looking for is gearing. What to put in it I've been told 4:11/4:56 in both front and rear, and I was told 4:11 in rear and something one or two faster/slower for launch. So any ideas or thoughts would be great. Also any body mod tricks like what to cut out, run traction bars or not, or anything else you've found works well.
