Default 1994 Chevrolet 1500 questions!!!!! HELP! :)

Hey there I own a 1994 Chevrolet K1500 5.7 litre v8 short box regular cab 4x4

I was wondering what my options were for front differential upgrades/mods
I currently am stock with the exception of 32 inch Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's +Kevlar

I need upgrade ideas, I am an avid off-roader, me and my buddies go every weekend at least once in and around the Regina Saskatchewan Area.
I don't want any dumb-ass comments about rims or spoilers or any rice crap like that by the way. I just want off-road performance/protection upgrades.

Cheers, Mitch

-if its a 1/2 ton you could upgrade to 3/4 ton axles
-straight pipe exhaust / headers / performance muffler
-cold air intake
-if you have IFS you could / should switch to straight axles
-lockers
-custom bumpers / winch
-KC lights
-brush guard
-CB radio (chat with the dudes)
-Coil over suspension (smoother ride, more flex)

not sure if thats what you were asking for but theres a punch of possible off roading truck upgrades.

Thanks a lot for the replies.
I definately have the Idependent front Suspension and was wondering what Axle swap options I might have, after market or off other trucks.
How much work would this involve?
I'm thinking Posi-diff- limited slip orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr SOLID AXLES
because they are rad

Cheers. Mitch

junk yard 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton axles are between $150-200.00 and they work just as well

Default RE front differential upgrades/mods

I wouldn't go as far as to swap a solid front diff instead of stock Ind diff.
I have a 91 GMC Sierra K1500 reg cab 4X4 with 38's Independant front and Power Trax front & rear posi diffs. I run a 290Hp GM crate motor 5spd Manual trans and Have had my front end 2ft off the ground many times landing throttle wide open. And my front end has never given me any trouble yet(Knock on wood).
My offroad buddies keep telling me they can't believe I haven't broken anything yet.
And there has been a few times that I had to tow a Ford or jeep out of the woods due to breakage(I'm sure my time will come too).
I still have the stock CV shafts and my odometer has just turned 165K miles.
I do spend time checking oil lvls in my Diffs & trans and transfer case after every 4x4 outing. Especially if there deep mud or water runs and replace fluids as needed. And my CV shafts have removable dust boots so after heavy offroading. I just pull the boots off and clean CV's with brake cleaner & recoat them with grease. Put the boots back on and I'm ready for the next OffRoad weekend.
I have to replace 1 rear diff seal because I noticed some oil on the back 1 of my drums. No big deal so I will do both sides. And I'm ready to rock!
