Default Body lift question

I have an 08 tahoe with stock 18" wheels, 32" tires.
I want to be able to do lite off road and I do travel in snowy areas too.
I have spoken to a few places that sell tires and do lifts. Some of them suggested a 6" suspension lift and 35" tires, which I find way too pricy for my needs.
A few suggested a 3" body lift and 33" tires.
My questions are:
Do you think the 3" body lift and 33" tires are the way to go?
Is 1" more on the tire that big a deal?
The tire that got the most recommendations for my needs is procomp Xtreme all terrain.

Thanks

Default Ziggy re lift kit

Hi Ziggy

I have a 91 GMC 4x4. I didn't want to spend alot on a liftkit. I purchased a front torsion bar level kit from Ebay for under $100. It allows you to adjust from 1 to 3 inches. I run 285/16 Goodyear MT/R on mine with no trouble.
The MT/R's are 33 inches tall and about 12 inches wide(10.5 tread). I use a 16x8 rim and I have no trouble. It takes about 3 to 5 hours to install.
And I have tested mine in some pretty rough trails and no troubles.
You might want to check wheel alignment after. I did and it only needs minor adjustment.

I have a 98 Tahoe with a 3inch body lift and i fit 34in / 10.50 inch Super Swampers and they fit fine, they only rub when i hit huge bumps off roading. And that could be fixed with a torsion key. Only problem with torsion keys are they stretch out your shocks giving you a bumpier ride and less travel/flex.

The stock tires on my Tahoe were 31s so i got 6 inches of height added to my truck along with 3 inches of clearance. Its definitely noticeable but not too big. But i'll still be purchasing a susp lift soon.
