Can you look at a rear end and tell if its a positive traction? If not, what can be done to identify posi?

jack up the rear w/both wheels off the ground, try to turn one wheel. if it stops or if you start turning both wheels, you got posi.

you can also check your build codes specific to your vehicle.

G80 in any GM automobile's glovebox build codes means it has a posi. Which may or may not be a good thing, that might mean you have the Eaton Gov-Loc bomb.
