Wwll, top end speed MIGHT increase slightly, but for most of us, that's not a big deal. I am guessing that most of our rigs are trail rigs / DD, which we are proud of how slow they can go, not how fast.

Not to mention that increasing power a little doesn't do much for top speed when the aerodynamics are that of two bricks stacked together going down the freeway. I bet putting a parachute on the back of my rig wouldn't effect my aerodynamics much... well, now I 'm just exagerating, but hopefully you see what I mean.

a thing i noticed off the bat, is that while at idle, where it used to idle at like 650-700 rpm it now idels at 700-750rpm. at a stop light or stop i dont have to give it as much gas as 4 b it used to like bog, it dificult to explain but with the new AFM the sucking sound the intake makes is louder, but that bog prob is gone, and the truck takes off better, i did however noticed that the a/f gauge read 1 somtimes 2 red leds indicating that my mixture moved over to the lean side but im a get the lce mixture adjuster for in cab adjusting. if i notice any thing else i'll let you know so far the mpg i have been ave b 4 the afm mod was 23.5mpg on 83oct so im a see if that changes

How does your K and N air filter mount to it? I was thinking of doing this to my 22re: http://www.geocities.com/toyotashawn/kndirections.html to mount a cone filter. Would that also work with the supra afm? Would the supra afm work with stock airbox? I don't know what to do now. Thanks

I would imagine that it would be easier to mount a K&N to the supra afm. My 22re afm is rectangular / square on the intake side of the afm, and round on the exit side of the afm. To use a K&N on a regular 22re afm you need an adapter plate to go from square to round on the intake side. If you look at the pics. of the supra afm, it is round (3" I belive) so no adapter would be needed, just a coupling.
I am in the proccess of trying to find a supra afm to try it out.

It definatly noticable. i have a bit more torque, and using the g-tech, it varies, is a upgrade in 3-5 hp, but it vaires the g-tech . n e way i can tell the difference, between the 2 as for the K& N i just put it on dont need an adapter plate like the regular small AFM. there is one thing i m a let u guys know when i was out looking of another 82 Supra the later 82 have the different AFMs the early have the one needed for our motors just match the numbers right to the ones on the pic i posted and u will not have a problem. So what size k and n fits to the supra afm? I just ordered a 4in. internal diameter, 5 in. length, I hope that will work, or should I try and cancel the order? The part # of the one I ordered was RU 2520.
