Default gearing help

Alright guys, I'm putting my ramcharger in the shop to get both axles worked on. I want to double check something first. The 85 ramcharger had a stock gear ratio of around 3.21, correct if not let me know. I wanted to run 33 inch tires a little easier than stock, so I wanted to put 3.73 ratio in the axles. The told me that they did not make 3.73 for my axles. They told me they could get 3.92. So if i put the 3.92 in my axles is that going to be overkill. My truck is a daily driver so need to keep my highway speed. So any help with this is appreciated. thanx

hi bud,
3:92's are good with 33's. Myself id go around 4:10-4:11 because the circumfance of a 33 is a fair amount larger than a stock tire, depending on how much hwy. driving your going to do. Email me if you have anymore questions. later!!

I have the 2500 ram w/360 and 4:10/11 and i'm running 38.5's and with highway driving my tranny is constantly downshifting, plus I don't have enough horsepower in 4 high to spin in the mud so 4-low is used in the deeper stuff. I probaly need 4:56 or a 5:13 to give me some serious pulling power like the old school power wagons :~)>...
