Default Warning - Post is graphic in nature!

So this is how I spent my weekend...

Here are the U-bolt reversal plates and NO blocks...WhoHoo! No more axle wrap (and clunk)!

Here is the shackle reversal bracket that allowed me to take out the blocks. I had to nip off the upper corner of one so it wouldn't poke my fuel filler tube, but not a problem.

Since I flipped the U-bolts, I lost my shock mounts, so I just welded some shock studs I had laying around to the axle tube, out of the way. You can also see the lack of block a little better in this pic.

I filled up the rest of my weekend by taking the front leaf packs apart, removing one of my stiffass leaves, and putting in 3 leaves from a ¾ ton front pack. If I jumped on 2 of the ¾ ton springs together on the ground, they were softer than my 1 stiffass leaf. So, I got a lift and it rides better. Bonus.

And finally, how it looks sitting in the driveway, after it's all done.

Then, I decided I didn't want to look at the muffler any longer, so off it came. Actually, you can see it right behind the front tire. Now 2½" straight pipe after the cat, and it's quiet! Nice.

Mike

Nah, if I ever went to 35's (you know my 33 STT's do pretty good) I'd probably just slip another leaf in each of the packs and make up the rest by trimming the fenders. The body work is just about the last thing I'm worried about on this thing. Plus, if I went to 35's, I couldn't fit a spare on the holder anymore!

Hey Mike, remember Old Florida Rd. with the extra height of my new 38.5's, big difference with a bigger tire escepecialy when it came to the bigger rocks, your hatch wouldn't open from them but I crawled right over them. I have a 33" spare under my truck and now thanks to Kale "big d.d."I now have a 38" spare tire, but of course its in the bed instead of being under where it belongs..... oh- well, lets wheel!!!...

Yeah, I'm still going up to NY this weekend. Leaving from work today, as a matter of fact. We plan on hitting some stuff on Sunday, but no sure how great that will be. Although, I do see rain in the forecast for Friday there, so we may get a little puddling yet...
Deano - if you want to get a hold of me, IM me today. Friday and Sat. I'll be in the Adirondacks, so no internet.
