Default LOCKED w/new gears

I have a 79 RamCharger last year I put a eight inch suspension lift (soft ride) 18.5 x 44 x 16.5 gumbo monster mudders. At the time I had 4.11 gears, but in the last two weeks I put a 5.13 w/detroit locker in the rear and a trac lock up front MAN did that truck cometo life. Right now Im still small block but have 440 in machine shop. IF OFFROADING IS A SICKNESS, I dont ever want to be well! GA4Wheeler

Thats sounds like a cool truck, anything with 44" tires is impressive. But they fit with just an 8" lift? You must have trimmed the fenders a bit, just wish I could just trim my fenders back enough for 44's on my 95 3/4 ram, the fenders are to small up against the door area. :~(

I am guessing that your running 60s front and rear. If not I shure could use a set of 4.11s for my 9 1/4 and 44.

Speaking of lockers, what do you guys think of a rear spool? I hear bad things (rumors) in general, but the few guys that use them on the street (sort of) say they're not that bad - espceially on longer wheelbases like mine. Also, anyone know where to even get a spool for a Dana 70?

Dont think I would use a spool on a daily driver. I plan on welding up the rear on my RC but it is just a weekend toy with occational use in between. Cant say that I know of a spool for a 70.

Hello everyone, went to a mud bogg this weekend, HAD A BLAST! Out of 35 trucks, I was the only one able to get throughthe big holes. Spent half the day pulling everyone out. Posi/trac loc is a beautiful thing. Mechman are you running a divorced t-case? Its gonna be hard to do on a short box, let me know how it goes. GA4Wheeler
