Need a Dodge Expert to help.
I have a 79 dodge 200 w/ a 440 4bbl. It only runs when you have the key in the start position.
You turn the key and as soon as the starter hits, the truck fires up and runs great. As soon as you take your hand off the key the truck dies.
I've changed the Ballast resistor, the control module, the starter relay, the coil( it was leaking), the dual magnetic pick-ups, and the ignition swith (not the key).
The last thing I changed however was the ballast. I tested it and it was putting out almost 8 volts.
Would that voltage damage anything? If not. DO you have any ideas as to what is going on?
