Question Jeep Code IAC & TPS on New Motor Installation
I just installed a new engine on my 1996 Jeep GrandCherokee Ltd V8 318 5.2 and now the jeep will start but when we put it in gear it dies and will not restart until it sits for a long time. We are getting 2 codes. Po505 (PO505---- IAC valve system fault) and Po123 (In range Throttle posistion sensor (TPS) circuit high input.) Before I replace these sensors do you think I did something wrong that could be an easy fix to fix the problem?

My guess would be to check and replace the fuel filter; it sounds like your engine is starved for fuel.

Also, you should try posting this question on the "Jeep Mid-Sized" board. That's where the ZJ owners hang out.
