Default squeek

I have a 1985 W350 with the 360 in it and since I bought it about 6 months ago it makes an annoying squeaking sound when you coast to a stop and I think it might even do it when at speed. It will not make it at idle even if you rev it or hold the throttle and let off so I can’t pin point the problem. What the heck is going on, all help is much appreheated, thank you.

You could support the rear axle on jackstands and see if it makes the noise. If not, it might be in the front end. You could support both axles on jack stands at that point and shift into 4wd to try to find it.

I don’t think that it’s in the drive line because the pitch of the squeak changes in engine rpm when shifting, the tranny was just rebuilt about 2 months ago so I don’t think it’s the culprit. It doesn’t seem to do it when it’s cold or in park either.
