Default 33 inch tires on stock rims?

What is the minimum wheel width that 33 x 12.5 x 15 tires could be mounted on? I know they can be put on a 15 x 10 wheel, how about an 8 or 9 inch wide wheel? Would this be different if the wheel and tire radius was 16 rather than 15? Thanks for the help.

33x12.5" wide tires should be fine on a 16x8 or 15x8 rim. Now, if they were 17's, there would be too little sidewall for that width at 33" in diameter.

I have run a 33x12.50 on a factory Ford 7.5 inch wheel before. I would still recomend an 8 inch wheel.

does anybody know what 'stock' is for an 85 ramcharger? it's 4wd, royal se package, came with factory auto tranny cooler, 35 gallon tank, and cruise control (possibly prospector package?)

from what i've heard, 31x10.50 is stock. that was what was on the truck when i bought it. it has what appears to be factory (stock) steel rims. are these 15x7 or 15x8? need to know as truck has 3" bodylift and would like to go 33x12.50, but will settle for 32x11.50 if rims are only 7" wide.

i plan on doing some mild 4 wheeling, nothing too off-camber. mainly just getting down old logging roads on state land and/or some snowy/muddy 4wd-only roads also on state land to access fishing and hunting spots. i was wondering if a 34x12.50 or 35x12.50 will work as it does have a 3" body lift on it.

last question - will wider tires on stock rims cause excessive rubbing or loss of turning raduis? seems like without some offset, a wider tire might rub on tight turns.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

tom
