86 360
I recently purchased an engine out of a junked truck. It was a 360 four barrel in an 86 Dodge 4x4. I have a 318 with big valve heads and a mild performance cam in it now, but will be hauling my Chevelle to and from the strip on a BIG trailer, and I need a little more torque than that stroke affords. To my question... I bought this thing as a longblock, and am wondering how to go about making a torquey towing engine out of it. Are the heads good? Is there a cam that works particularly well? Are there books about building truck engines, because I only seem to find books that produce engines more suited to cars than trucks, ie. top end horsepower over all else. Please help.
