Default Stupid Windshield Wipers! Please Help!

Ok guys, I need some help, I also posted this over on the Jeep board...maybe you guys can add some wisdom

In my Ram, 1998, the damn windshield wipers stopped returning to the spot where they are
supposed to go on their own when you turn them off. Sometimes they stop in the middle of the
windshield, or somehwere between there and where they are SUPPOSED to be.....I've had this
problem for a while...and its not dangerous...unless its an indication of impending motor failure...in
which case, it could be dangerous....So what I want to know is...is there an adjustment for this? I
sure didnt see one. Or is this just something I have to live with. Like I said, other than a pain in the
butt to play with the switch to get them down...its nothing horrific...but if that motor is about to
fail...I'd like to replace it NOW....cause its snowing out there....and this is the family's ONLY 4x4.
Thanks guys

Remy

i'm not sure about the newer models but the older ones had an adjustment on them - look for a flathead screw somewhere on the motor case. it could be that the bushings are worn out for the linkages.

On Ford motors, there is an internal electrical wiper contact that provides power to the motor even when the switch is off everywhere EXCEPT the park position. This keeps the motor running until it gets to the bottom of the window and then lets it die IF you've turned the switch off. It sounds like there's something wrong with that contact, but Mopar may have done it different from FoMoCo.
