Hi, James. Gas actually starts breaking down(oxidizing)right away. But depending on how long, where and the weather conditions during storage it should be alright for 2-3 months, maybe a little longer. I don't know what kind of oil you have mixed with it, which may or may not make a difference.
Most racers use only fresh mix every time, but I don't think it's necessary.
Just as a note, I have used Stabil fuel stabilizer in all sorts of engines for years, and firmly believe in it. On my back-up generator, I can leave it for 6 months with the same fuel in it and it starts on 2 or 3 pulls and has never had corrosion or gunk in the tank or carb. I hope this helps, Bob

Bob's right, I can get about two months out of mixed gas. It doesn't last that long in the five gallon can for me. But lately my daughter hasn't been riding much, so I know by the gas in her tank. Lately, I just empty it into my can and use it myself before it go's bad. It's easy to tell though, your bike will start smoking bad with bad gas. Then it just won't run at all.
