Default Terrible herbst cheated?

My son said that Herbst's car was broke out in the desert at Vegas to Reno and that they got assistance from their chopper. I don't know if he's just saying that because he knows they're my team or something did happen. He said they broke a steering sector gear or shaft and wouldn't have been able to fix it without outside help. I know they were down, but I wasn't sure what it was for. He's the third person to tell me they landed their chopper to get help. Could someone please put an end to this no matter true or not?

I can't see it happening. First of all, Herbst is one of a very few teams that are CLOSELY watched - by fans and haters too. You aren't going to "sneak" a helicopter in to help. Landing very near the race course without someone seeing and reporting that to BITD officials immed? No way.

Great rumor though!

Broken Steering boxes and sector shafts are nothing new in desert racing. There are few that have more miles under their belt than the Herbst operation.

It is very common to carry a spare steering box on board of the race vehicle.

The Vegas 2 Reno event def. not their 1st rodeo. I doubt they would gamble a DQ over a DNF.
