Anonymous posters

Why is this even allowed? Makes ZERO sense to allow people to post when they wont take the time to registar, and allows for spammers and flame trolls. Is there something that can be done to change this? Figured I would at least try asking.

I just checked the forum settings and from what I see, anonymous posters are not allowed. This may have been changed to this status recently??

I agree though....everybody should have to be a registered memeber!

I don't believe it is allowed or has been. At laeast not on purpose ......

Look in the snowmobile drag racing forum, that is all you will see there, anonymous, anonymous, anonymous. Maybe it has been changed and isn't allowed anymore, but I know I saw it in at least one or two of the other forums also.

I would also like to make a suggestion, state an opinion about something that used to be allowed or was a part of the bbs before that I think was a great idea. It used to be that when people posted, it listed there IP address also. That was stopped, I am assuming because some worried that the ip address would allow others to attempt to hack a given computer or some other form of harrasement etc, but by having the ip listed with the users name it also allowed everyone to know when some losers would post under different names and thus prevent allowing them to bully, harass, or otherwise support their own lame ignorant behaviours, opinions, or thoughts under the guise of it being "others supporting" what they had to say. I know for a fact this has happened (Sandman caught a guy doing it before and I also believe/suspect that their is another person doing the same if not more). I would suggest that there be some way to cross refrence the ip to user's names to some form of data base that will list say a ORC assigned # given to a specific ip and listed with every post, so that these idiots can be weeded out and eliminated from the bbs as it seriously degrades the information shared here because people can no longer believe 90% of whats said if they believe that the same person is just trying to "reinforce his beliefs or thoughts" on any given subject. It's like one person getting to vote 100 times for the candidate he want's for president and the rest of the country only gets one vote, if that clarifies what I am trying to say. Granted this may not be a 100% effective and/or not sure if there is a way to even set it up, but something needs to be done because it is/will kill the boards. I for one have stopped frequenting the boards for this very reason because I refuse to argue with an ignorant idiot who has to have 2, 3, 4, or more bbs identities to try to support his/her ignorance. If either of you wish to discuss this further please pm me because I have stopped waisting my time even coming to the majority of the bulletin boards here for these very reasons but I do check my pm's regularly.

Or heck, for that matter take a look in BBS Photo and Image Help, the forum immediatly below this one, nothing but spam posted by anonymous. Do you really need someone posting :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored: enlargement or Viagra spam here to keep your servers up and running, no wonder this crap has been so laggy and SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW to load as of late, real nice bulletin board you guys are running these days. I would bet they are linking this CRAP in e-mail spam and you guys are allowing it. Lovely. If you can't tell, I do not approve and doubt the other off-roading members care for it either.
