Contestants for TV Show Thunder Races

I am a researcher for a London based TV Company called Leopard Films in the process of developing a new show to go out on TLC called 'Thunder Races'.

Thunder Races is an engineering challenge show in which 3 teams are given $1000 with which to buy all the materials they need to complete a given challenge which will be based around modifying a standard road car. The challenge could involve anything from creating a dune buggy, to fitting a V8 engine into a small 2 door hatchback. The vehicles are constructed over a 24 hour build period and then raced in the desert to see who built the quickest and strongest car.

Contestants would need to have experience and knowledge of working with engines and cars in general as well as be able to weld and fabricate. As such we are looking for racing drivers and mechanics of all kinds but would be very interested in anyone else you think may be suitable.

The filming of the first show would take place in Las Vegas - Nevada, therefore you or any contestants you find to take part would need to be within driving distance of the location. The production would of course pay for your travel costs.
