I'm really excited about this quad!! I LOVE my YFZ and never thought I'd want to replace it with anything - until I saw the new YFZR! Have to say, I can't wait to get one of these out on the track or in the dunes!!

Check out the price tag on the KTM - over $13k. Ouch!

Don't forget Thomas Brown won the ProAm championship on the Yamaha this year. They aren't out of it.

Actually we're both wrong. Split the difference - the KTM SX are $11.5.

oh ok

yeah i never saw the KTM SX prices

i was thinking of the KTM XC and then there is the 450 and 525 XC difference
and then the KTM SX 450 and 510 difference. so yes confusion is bound to happen lol
either way they are all great quads and its all about the rider. from yamaha to can-am to any 450 out there

i cant afford any of those 450s
but i can out ride many 450 guys with my 400ex (of corse not stock)

Yeah, your point about "depending on the rider" is right on. We get questions all the time, "Which is faster...?" Dude, it depends on how hard you grab the throttle! And how much you weigh. And how good you are at going through the gears.

Someone on stock Suzuki LT250 is probably faster than me on a Raptor 700!

All 450's side by side, there may be a fraction of a difference, but it is mostly about the rider. You get to the Pro level, where the talent gets pretty close, then the fractions matter. That's when it's worth it to get the checkbook out.

Default Test riding new Yamaha YFZ450R

The Off-Road.com guys will be test-riding the new Yamaha in November, on trails and MX track - we'll see what they think.
