Cool search and destroy

I have a friend with the same bike and after sitting for the winter the float needle and seat where stuck (corroded). It might be dumb to mention but has anyone changed the weight of their oil that could make it smoke or run different if you went to heavier weight. You might try unscrewing the air fuel mixture screw and make sure there is no corrosion in the porting, otherwise it becomes non adjustable and you'll rack your brains for nothing.I always try to start with the basics what did you last do new style of air filter ,or drill out the air box so many variables just don't over think it cause it might still be an easy fix. One other thing do they have the vacuum pull slide maybe the port for it is blocked thus you crack the throttle and it doesn't get any fuel and dies a terrible annoying death..Hope I've helped

Figured mine out In my case, my rebuild kit had the wrong size jet (120 supposed to be 145). Why it was so much off is beyond me. But I cleaned my old jet real good and put it back in and it is running perfect. Idles like a dream now!

The Yamaha Warrior is a good quad to learn on. It is fairly simple to maintain and work on. However like any machine it can make you pull your hair out at times.

Yes, I agree with your point,
Sometimes you need to check more details.

Default 1998 Yamaha warrior not accelarting.

Hello to all. I have a 1998 warrior that i bought used. When i first bought it was running fine with know problems. I went to ride it one day and it started up fine, but the problem i am having is that it idles fine but when you give it gas it's making like a poping noise almost like the choke would be on. I am going to get a carb rebuild kit and try that. anyone have a thing they could tell me with this issue? Anything will help. thanks!

I rebuilt a 1997 warrior from the frame up powdercoating everything frame, carrier, swing arm, brackets and anything else I can. After I got it all together I elimated the parking brake cable, and lock on clutch lever assembly and installed a block off on caliber. The problem I had it started great, idled great that when I give it gas seems to pop and die it sounds like the choke is on it just wouldn`t rev up but it did before I took all apart. I bought a carb kit rebuilt carb and still have problem. Than bought a whole new carb for 275.00 and still wasn`t it. Than I thought because I had aftermarket exhaust that the jet wasn`t big enough so I bumped it up still have the problem. So I was talking to a friend from california and he had a neighbor the had same problem and you would never think of this but on the clutch lever where the parking brake lock lever is there is a saftey switch/button like on the clutch lever but on the parking brake lock I started quad held in the switch/button and that was it the quad ran and reved up perfect so I removed switch and unplugged it and taped up the connectors. It was a gremlin I would never to think of to look there. Hope this info. helps alot of people. Rob

dunerookie just wanted to thank you for your advice on the parking brake solution, i can't believe that the parking brake was the problem with my 2001 warrior. I'm just wondering how you ever figured it could be that? I tryed everything and could'nt believe that it really works! thanks again, and i hope your advice well help other riders just like it did for me.
