OK! for 1 you are all pretty stupid thinking that the banshee only does 67 mph, Even low end gearing wouldnt slow you down that much, A stock banshee does 76 mph. I hate banshees although i will take up for you people that own one. Second of all the warrior doesnt do ANYWHERE AROUND 70 ANYTHING! And asfar as i am concerned i dont wanna here nomore about that stupid piece of crap eton or whatever that new heavy peace of crap was, My cannondale speed would smoke every single one of those bikes INCLUDING the banshee! I know my [bleep], dont try tellin me that stupid warrior does over 70mph, "the same as the banshee"

Horsepower does not determone top speed, gearing does!

[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, gearing is what determines top speed, provided you have enough power to pull the weight of the quad and rider, along with the wind resistance, rolling resistance etc... with that gearing.

ok boys that was takin care of

anyway, Its an 87' R, completely rebuilt motor, from gaskets to fresh port + polish........this guy takes care of his bikes real good, It has 5 hours on the rebuild, and he replaced almost everything with oem parts, I fully trust the guy becasue he is not the type to rip you, he is including many extra parts all for 4g's obo, he said low was 37, and he just needs it out of his garage, he already has 2 other R's, he has lots of bud's on the site and I bet this R is everything someone would want, a real nice guy

As for me gettin the darn money, we will have to wait another week

has a pipe, plastics, adn the thing is cleaner than clean, it was in pieces before, and he showed all of them to me, cleaned everything up, a real jaw dropper

The way that all the magazine and article writers do these tests is: They take a stock machine of the showroom and run it in a straight line on flat ground. Thats how they determine top speed. So all the bikes are on equal grounds when they are being ran stock. One doesn't have a pipe, or different size tires. Dirtwheels or 3&4 wheel action did an article on top speed and tested many bikes about 4 years ago. Thats why I knew the banshee was 67mph. Now atv cnnection has shown that can variate to 68 mph. Everyone on this post seems to think the fastest bike has the most horsepower, it doesn't work that way. Just because sprocket size and tire size may be the same on two bikes, it doesn't mean they will both go 65mph. Transmission ratios are also a key factor. A stock Banshee with an RZ trans would probably top out at 78-80mph. It doesn't say anything about the determining horsepower from speed though. Last week we ran a competely modified 88 250R down the road nex to the truck, it had lower gearing but 21" tires on it. It went 72mph. The other thing that can determine top speed is rpm. If you take a stock Banshee, port it and give it pipes. They can turn more rpm, that can make top speed increase because or the increased motor revolutions per minute. It feels fast because your right there next to the ground, watching it rush by. If you were in a car with no body, it would feel a lot faster there too!

Furor here is the answer to your question as qouted by sportquad.coms article review on the 2003 Blaster. This is qouted.
"You won't find any changes in the engine compartment and we found nothing to complain about. The 200cc two stroke almost always fired up on the first kick, even for the smaller riders. The engine has plenty of power to get you around and with a set of Maxxis Roosters and Douglas wheels from Rocky Mountain ATV, it could climb most any hill we could find at Dumont Dunes. With a smaller rider (135 pounds) we were able to coax the Blaster up to a top speed of 57MPH."

Here is the link.

Zombie, your vast amount of knowledge is staggering. Audi is a certified automotive technician (and he must be pretty good at it, or he wouldn't be making enough money turning wrenches to be able to afford all his nice toys). What sort of specialized training and experience do you have in the mechanical field? Do you have any at all, or just relaying what you've learned in an online physics class(AKA: online atv forum hopping) that your taking to become a rocket scientist? Don't worry though, we all understand it might be difficult for you to estimate the top speed of a stock Banshee as it flies past you on your King Quad.

Ian, it sounds like a great quad, I hope you get it. It should do much better on the track than your 300ex.
